After Laser Hair Removal
At the clinic, after laser hair removal, the therapist will cool the skin to make it more comfortable.
We normally use a cooling aloe vera gel or cream. However, other options include ice packs, anti-inflammatory creams or lotions, or cold water.
At home, you can continue to apply aloe vera gel to soothe the area treated. This is also a good moisturiser and it is helpful to nourish the skin.
You should not need to shave the area for a few days after treatment and the hair will regrow more sparsely. Deal with any unwanted hairs with shaving between treatments.
Wear sunscreen in the treated area for the following month. This is for a few reasons:
- to help prevent tanning in the area, making your next treatment as effective as possible
- your treated skin will be more sensitive
Complications are very rare with good therapists and good laser equipment. However, if you have any concerns (e.g. redness, swelling, blistering, scarring), then do contact our clinic as soon as possible. Quinn Clinics is owned and managed by a fully trained and qualified GP, Dr John Quinn, who is always on hand should any potential issues arise.
